3rd year graduate student, Biological Engineering, Voigt Lab
Andee is a graduate student in Biological Engineering in Chris Voigt’s lab, where she uses synthetic biology as a tool to develop biomimetic materials. Andee studied Bioengineering at Stanford University before spending a year working in industry at a biotech start-up (Bolt Threads) in the Bay Area. In the fall of 2015, she was the teaching assistant for 20.109, Laboratory Fundamentals in Biological Engineering. Outside of the lab, Andee serves as the Assistant Director for E^3, a Boston Area mentoring program for underrepresented, female high school students interested in STEM. She also enjoys casual bike rides, gardening, experiencing live music, discussing ways to promote gender equality in science (and in general), and chilling with her cat Minkis.
