Cristina Torres Caban, Comm Fellow 2018-2022

Comm Fellow 2018-2022
Boyden Lab, BE, McGovern

Cristina is a Biological Engineering PhD student in Ed Boyden’s Synthetic Neurobiology Group, where she spends time thinking about what new tools can be designed to study the brain and further attempting to make these ideas reality. Cristina was born and raised in Puerto Rico where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla. Her interest in communication and mentorship came naturally as an undergrad when she tackled being a chemistry newsletter editor and mentor to students ranging from elementary school to college peers. Cristina enjoys warm days, dancing (especially salsa!), learning new languages, traveling, and being Puerto Rican.
