A graduate student working at the intersection of biochemistry, computer science, and journalism, with a passion for creating engaging scientific narratives
Aparna is a graduate student in the Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics PhD program at Harvard. Her research interests lie in the fields of psychiatric and immune disorders, and she’s mainly interested in using genomic methods to untangle the roles of specific cell types in these diseases. With an interdisciplinary background in biochemistry, computer science, and journalism, she’s excited about the challenge of communicating research between people with different personal philosophies on science. Her experience with journalism and graphic design has also taught her how precise prose and intuitive visuals can enhance a scientific narrative, and she hopes to bring this perspective to her work in the Comm Lab.
