Sarah was a Chemical Engineering PhD student in Patrick Doyle’s lab where she used hydrogels and microfluidics to develop medical diagnostic devices to assess thyroid function in clinics in India. Prior to MIT, she obtained a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma where she analyzed platelet response to high shear rates for her master’s thesis. Sarah is active on the Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB) for MIT Chemical Engineering and is a ChemE representative on the Graduate Student Council. Outside of MIT, Sarah enjoys sewing fancy clothes and traveling to new places.
