Comm Lab Fellow

Victor is a Mechanical Engineering PhD student in the Global Engineering and Research Laboratory (GEAR Lab). Originally from France, he earned his B.S in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. During these years, he gained an appreciation for machine design by taking gadgets apart, understanding their mechanisms and the underlying physics behind it. He now works on structural optimization to design a mass-manufacturable low-cost passive prosthetic foot to improve the everyday life of amputees in the developing world. His involvement in student groups and work on global development in India forged his dedication to help communicating science in a structured, simple and concise manner. When you can’t find Victor tinkering in the machine shop, he is most likely windsurfing, playing squash or pretending being a painter while listening to music.
