Alice Boo is a Postdoctoral Associate in Professor Chris Voigt’s lab in the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT. She completed both her MEng in Biomedical Engineering from in 2017 and her Ph.D. in Synthetic Biology in 2022 from Imperial College London. In the lab, she is engineering a synthetic microbe-to-plant communication channel to monitor the soil quality of agricultural crops. She is passionate about all forms of communication, especially visual communication and graphic design, and helping people communicate their research through visuals. Outside the lab, Alice can be found working on eclectic sets of projects from painting to woodworking or gardening.
