4th year graduate student
DeKosky Lab, BE, ChemE
Sarah is a Biological Engineering Ph.D. student and NSF graduate research fellow in Professor Brandon DeKosky’s lab. Her research focuses on developing platforms for high-throughput functional screening of antibodies with an emphasis on identifying candidates that modulate G protein-coupled receptor activity. Originally from Lake Zurich, Illinois, she completed her undergraduate studies relatively close to home receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering with a double major in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University. She is passionate about prioritizing scientific storytelling when communicating with any and all audiences, whether that be presenting to experts at conferences or explaining research topics through children’s books. Outside of science, Sarah sings with the MIT Concert Choir, plays the piano, and can often be found cheering on Ferrari during Formula 1 races.
