3rd year graduate student
Voigt Lab, BE, Synthetic Biology Center
Victoria Chen is a PhD student in Professor Christopher Voigt’s lab in the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT. Her research explores the real-world impact of releasing genetically engineered bacteria into natural environments, with the goal of enabling responsible and effective applications of synthetic biology beyond the lab. Before battling the cold winds of Boston, she earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Engineering from sunny Caltech. She is passionate about using carefully crafted storytelling and beautiful figures to win grants and influence people. Outside the lab, Victoria is an avid World of Warcraft player, utilizing her analysis skills on gameplay data to optimize for top-tier performance.
