The first time you use the <a href=\"https:\/\/mitcee.mywconline.com\/\">scheduling calendar<\/a> you&#8217;ll need to register using your MIT email address. You will then be able to see all of the Fellows\u2019 available times and select a time slot. Sessions can be 30 min or 1 hr, and appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Option 2: Contact the Comm Lab Manager<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If none of the available times on the schedule work for you, or you want guidance figuring out which Fellow would be the best match, contact <a href=\"mailto:berezin@mit.edu\">Jared, <\/a>our Comm Lab manager.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Option 3: Contact a Fellow directly<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Read about our <a href=\"https:\/\/mitcommlab.mit.edu\/cee\/fellows-staff\/\">CEE Comm Fellows<\/a> to see if there is a particular Fellow whose background may be a good match for your needs, and contact them directly.<\/p>\n<h3>Communication Lab Policies<\/h3>\n<h4><em>Who can use the Civil and Environmental Engineering Communication Lab? <\/em><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The CEE Comm Lab is free and available to anyone in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, affiliated with a CEE lab, or taking a CEE class at MIT.<\/li>\n<li>If you are an MIT student or postdoc not affiliated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, check whether your department has a Comm Lab <a href=\"http:\/\/mitcommlab.mit.edu\/find-comm-labs\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you are an MIT student or postdoc and your department does not have a Comm Lab contact the <a href=\"mailto:berezin@mit.edu\">Comm Lab Manager<\/a>\u00a0and we&#8217;ll do our best support you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><em>How do Comm Lab sessions work?<\/em><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ll meet with a Comm Fellow in-person or online to brainstorm content, review your materials, and discuss revision ideas.<\/li>\n<li>You can opt for a 30 or 60 minute session, and make additional follow-up appointments.<\/li>\n<li>Cancellations must be made at least 3 hours in advance (preferably 24 hours in advance), otherwise they will be counted as missed appointments.<\/li>\n<li>If a client misses three appointments, they will not be able to take advantage of the Comm Lab during the following four months.<\/li>\n<li>Coaching sessions are kept confidential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><em>What can and can\u2019t I expect Communication Fellows to do?<\/em><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Fellows will ask you about your project and your goals for the session.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows do not provide written feedback outside of a session.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows are not obligated to read client documents or otherwise prepare <em>before<\/em> sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows are not available for private tutoring outside of the Comm Lab, and will not accept gifts from clients.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows do not replace TAs, course instructors, or S<sup>3<\/sup> counselors, and we encourage you to take full advantage of the array of resources available at MIT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><em>Accessibility\u00a0<\/em><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>If you would like to discuss accommodations prior to making an appointment, please contact the <a href=\"mailto:berezin@mit.edu\">Comm Lab manager<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Additional communication consultation resources at MIT<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cmsw.mit.edu\/writing-and-communication-center\/\">MIT Writing and Communication Center<\/a><\/strong> also offers one-on-one communication consultation on written and oral communication, provided by MIT Lecturers in the Humanities who are published writers and experienced teachers.
