Dousabel is a ChemE Ph.D. student in Voldman and Sikes groups. Her research interests lie in developing novel methods integrating microfluidics to engineer proteins for improved clinical diagnostics. Singapore is her home country, and the place of her undergraduate institution, the National University of Singapore. Making clear yet visually pleasing figures and slide decks for scientific communication is her passion, as is professional development and teaching! Outside of the Comm Lab, she leads the Graduate Student Council’s Academics, Research and Careers (GSC-ARC) Committee and is involved in the development of online digital learning platforms. She has also been organizing large scale social events in graduate residences such as brunches and games. In her free time, her hobbies include exploring a variety of cuisines through baking and cooking, particularly desserts, and engaging in tabata-style workouts.
