Postdoctoral associate, Brushett Group
Ioanna is a postdoctoral associate in the Brushett Group in ChemE, where she is currently working on flow batteries for long duration energy storage. She pivoted to this field after getting her PhD from Imperial College London (2025) and her MEng from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2020), having focused on heterogeneous thermal/solar CO2 catalysis.
During her PhD, Ioanna discovered the value of interdisciplinary collaborations by leading projects involving multiple departments/research groups/institutions. She also has a passion for outreach, and has exhibited STEM research to various audiences including children, science experts, and political figures.
In the Comm Lab, Ioanna hopes to draw from her experiences and help others present themselves and their research to diverse targeted audiences. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, connecting with friends, going to the beach, or simply being lazy at home watching series.
