Postdoctoral Fellow, Kulik and Smith Labs

Matt is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Kulik and Smith labs. He completed his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Mississippi State University in 2017 and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2022. During his Ph.D., he studied the transport fundamentals of composite membranes materials, focusing on purifications in organic environments. At MIT, he is working on data-driven discovery of metal-organic frameworks for challenging gas separations problems. Matt is passionate about crafting engaging scientific communications and helping others share their message. He especially enjoys making technical presentations accessible to general audiences. In his free time, Matt enjoys baseball, baking cheesecake, and traveling to new places.
