Communication Fellow Alum
Mica joined the Green group as a postdoc in September 2017. She designed experiments to measure gas phase chemical kinetics in the production of soot and develops mechanistic models to understand and optimize industrial pyrolysis processes. Mica obtained her Ph.D. in physical chemistry from UC Berkeley after graduating from Western Washington University in 2011. As an undergraduate Mica worked as a writing assistant helping her fellow students perfect their essays, personal statements and job applications. In graduate school she continued finding ways to combine her interests in science and communication, doing freelance work as a manuscript editor and web science writer. Apart from her research work Mica enjoys yoga, cooking, traveling to new places and exploring the outdoors.
