Richard Huang, Communication Fellow

Communication Fellow
4th year graduate student, Doyle Group

Richard is a ChemE PhD student and an NSF Fellow in the Doyle Group. At MIT, he studies the mechanics and dynamics of DNA nanostructures under flow. His research focuses on computational soft matter, transport phenomena, and mechanistic modeling to understand the structure, dynamics, and behavior of DNA through a polymer physics lens. Having faced many of the challenges of technical communication himself, both oral and written, Richard brings a personal understanding of what makes scientific ideas difficult to convey clearly. As a Comm Lab fellow, he aims to help peers navigate these challenges and develop principled strategies for telling scientific stories that are both accessible and engaging. Outside of research, Richard enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring food and musical cultures, dancing, and sailing on the Charles.
