Communication Fellow Alum

Sachin was an NIH graduate research fellow co-advised by Jeremiah Johnson, Darrell Irvine and Robert Langer. His research focused on the development of synthetic polymer systems that manipulate the function of cells of the immune system to obtain new vaccines, cancer immunotherapies and models of immune system function. Originally from Bombay, India, Sachin received his undergraduate education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee where he worked as the Editor-in-Chief of the campus magazine for 2 years. Early during his time at MIT, Sachin discovered a passion for proposal writing, a skill that has most recently earned him an NCI F99/K00 award. Sachin particularly enjoys working with clients to refine their fellowship and grant application narratives. Outside of the Communication Lab, Sachin has worked with the MIT Biotech Group, Harvard Science in the News, and IOP Publishing honing his scientific communication skills. He has been awarded the Vera List writing prize at MIT HASS and the trainee award for science communication by the Controlled Release Society.
