Stephanie Kong, Communication Fellow Alum

Communication Fellow Alum

Stephanie is Chemical Engineering PhD graduate from the Hammond lab, which designs bioresponsive drug carriers for targeted delivery to tumors. Her work spanned the disciplines of medicine, materials chemistry and soft matter, and focuses on understanding biomechanical interactions at the interface of nanotechnology and cancer. Stephanie strongly believes that effective communication is the keystone to scientific success. Her particular communication strengths lie in figure design, presentation, and graduate/fellowship applications. She is a strong proponent of clear organizational flow and feels that developing this early on can making the writing process more efficient. For this reason, she enjoys being able to work with clients at all stages of the writing process—from brainstorming to revision and editing.

Prior to attending MIT, she received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in Spanish from the University at Buffalo in upstate New York. Outside of research, she loves traveling, skiing, rock climbing, and is an active member of several women’s groups on campus.
