Aerospace Controls Laboratory: collaborative robotic perception

Annika Thomas is a PhD student in the Aerospace Controls Laboratory (ACL) with a research focus on robotic perception in unstructured environments. Annika holds two bachelor’s degrees, one from College of Idaho in Math and Physics and one from Columbia University in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to her PhD, Annika conducted research on astrophysics, satellite design, propulsion dynamics, attitude control and materials science. Through teaching summer programs, tutoring, and speaking at seminars, Annika has developed expertise in helping students create presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences. When not working, Annika enjoys photography, rock climbing, reading, game nights, and trying new restaurants.
