Aerospace Materials and Structures Lab: manufacturing of large structures in space

Harsh Bhundiya is a PhD candidate in the MIT Aerospace Materials and Structures Laboratory. His research interests lie at the intersection of spacecraft design and structural mechanics. Currently, he is researching a concept for manufacturing large structures in space from a spool of wire feedstock. Born in India, Harsh grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech in 2020. As a CommLab fellow, Harsh is interested in finding effective communication strategies for getting the audience excited about technical work. When not in the lab making large structures out of wire, Harsh enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and cooking.
