ARCLab: astrodynamics models for policy makers and developing metrics for space sustainability
Maya Harris is an S.M. candidate in the Astrodynamics, Space Robotics, and Controls Lab (ARCLab). After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics and a minor in Creative Writing at Stanford in 2023, she came to MIT to further her interest in space policy and space sustainability. Today, she is a dual-degree master’s student in both MIT’s Technology and Policy Program and the Aeronautics and Astronautics Department. Her research focuses on creating astrodynamics models for policymakers and developing metrics for quantifying space sustainability. In the Comm Lab, she is here to help with any form of technical communication, but is especially interested in incorporating storytelling and narrative into technical presentations and communication for non-technical audiences. When she’s not in building 37, you can find her dancing with the MIT Ballroom Dance Team or running a meeting of the Graduate Student Science Fiction Book Club!
