ESL: STEM modeling and simulation, high-performance computing, machine learning, and data science
Zeyad is a PhD student in the Computational Science and Engineering program, with a B.Sc. in Computational Physics and M.Sc. in Computational Science, Mathematics and Engineering. He worked on high performance computational methods with an emphasis on large-scale scientific modeling and diverse methods for optimization, data science and computational design.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in multiple technology startups and worked for more than six years as a full-time researcher, developing scalable data-driven simulations, satellite computer vision models and optimization tools for urban analysis and policy evaluation. He is an experienced public speaker who has given hundreds of presentations to diverse audiences, and has a passion for crafting accessible explanations of technical topics.
Growing up in a diplomatic family, Zeyad is an avid traveler who has visited over 150 cities across more than 20 countries. He loves to learn about the diverse histories, cultures and customs from around the world, and his communication style reflects this curiosity and adaptability. He became a Comm Lab fellow because he loves to help others distill complex technical ideas and convey them across across different backgrounds and disciplines.
