Are you working on a paper or a thesis while stuck at home?
Have you found yourself unexpectedly preparing for a virtual talk or thesis defense?

Do you want to use this time to improve your communication skills?

The EECS Comm Lab is here to help!

Virtual Appointments

You can schedule a 1-on-1 video coaching appointment with an EECS Communication Fellow (a trained EECS grad student or postdoc) to give you feedback on any technical communication task. We can help at any point during the process – brainstorming, outlining, revising, or editing. We’re using the same scheduling system as usual. Find instructions on how to schedule a 30-60 minute session here.

Quick Takes

If you can’t make a video appointment, but still want some quick feedback, you can submit a document to our Quick Takes service. Note that this is intended as a way for you to get some brief, high-level feedback and is NOT a copy-editing service.

Online Resources

Check out the CommKit, our online collection of communication guides for specific tasks. We have recently updated content about writing a paper, broken down by section and new information about best practices for coding, file organization, and documentation.

Keep an eye out for new online content coming soon!
