Ariel is a third-year PhD student in the Parallel and Distributed Operating Systems (PDOS) group, advised by Frans Kaashoek. His research interests lie in the areas of distributed systems, operating systems, and security. Through novel programming abstractions, Ariel seeks to improve the efficiency of cloud computing while providing strong security guarantees to its users.

Ariel received his B.S. in Computer Science from UT Austin and is a proud Mexican immigrant. Outside of work he likes to play soccer, cook, snowboard, and play jazz.
