Graduate Student

Gohar is an EECS PhD student in the Parallel Data and Operating Systems (PDOS) lab, advised by Prof. Adam Belay. His research focuses on designing efficient operating systems in the context of data centers. Prior to joining MIT, he worked at Microsoft Research for 3 years in the Systems Research Group. Some of his research on making serverless computing more efficient is deployed in Microsoft Azure. He received his Masters from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2018 and his Undergrad from Lahore University of Management Sciences (Pakistan) in 2016. Outside of research, he enjoys biking (preferably outdoors and not in front of a screen!). Gohar values effective communication of scientific ideas and wants to learn from others while helping in whatever way he can.
