Graduate Student
Markos is an EECS PhD student in the Data Systems Group (DSG), advised by Prof. Tim Kraska. His research focuses on making cloud databases more efficient in two ways: diagnosing past performance problems accurately and providing robust guarantees for future performance. Before MIT, he earned a B.S.E in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
Markos’ relationship with effective communication has been evolving over the years, from high school public speaking clubs, to working with kids in YMCA summer camps, to effective presentations during stints in management consulting, to striving for clear academic writing these days. At the Comm Lab, he is excited to help coach people on the same path to making themselves and their work understood.
Outside work, Markos is nearing his 20th anniversary as a guitar player and is involved with the MIT Hellenic Students’ Association. He also enjoys reading and playing soccer.
