Vishwak is a Ph.D. student in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS), advised by Prof. Ashia Wilson. His research focuses on theoretical aspects of machine learning and data science, specifically in devising and analysing methods for optimisation and sampling. He is passionate about teaching and mentorship, and this is what motivated him to join the EECS Comm Lab. Previously, he was a student in the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University, and completed his undergraduate degree at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, majoring in Computer Science and Engineering. In his free time, Vishwak partakes in long-distance running and is part of the Cambridge Running Club, and also likes watching pictures and videos of cats, TV shows, and movies.
