Mechanical Engineering
Amber Velez is a master’s candidate in the Precision Engineering Research Group with Professor Alexander Slocum. Her research focuses on pulsed electrolysis to increase efficiency of hydrogen production, and aims to make green hydrogen a more cost competitive energy carrier alternative.
Amber earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Creative Writing at MIT in 2024. She enjoys discovering the narrative in any experience, and framing that narrative to hit home with a wide range of audiences.
Outside the lab, she can be found running by the Charles River or hammering iron in the forge.
