Comm Lab Fellow
Mechanical Engineering
Ruth is a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering advised by Professor Peko Hosoi. She is from Boston and graduated from MIT in 2025 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. As an undergraduate, Ruth conducted research across a range of fields, including bioadhesives for minimally invasive surgery in the Zhao Lab, above-the-knee prostheses in the GEAR Lab, and visual and haptic feedback systems for hand-held robots in the Interactive Robotics Group, where she completed her senior thesis. Currently, she performs data analysis on BMX races for AusCycling through the Sports Lab.
As a Comm Lab fellow, Ruth is excited to help others communicate complex ideas in accessible and engaging ways. She hopes to support students in developing their ideas and find their own voices as communicators. She is particularly interested in helping others build confidence in both writing and presentations. In her free time, Ruth enjoys reading, running, watching TV, and trying new restaurants.
