Comm Lab Fellow
Simo is a graduate student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. His research focuses on the physics of heat transfer and nanotechnology, with a focus on thermal radiation. He earned a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, where his undergraduate research focused on the nanomechanics of solid lubricants used on spacecraft. For his co-op, he spent a year at MIT designing and prototyping medical devices. Simo is enthusiastic about solving the puzzle that is science communication. He is excited to use his broad range of expertise to help the MIT community with their graduate school and fellowship applications, technical writing, and figure design. Off-campus, Simo enjoys collecting comic books and creative writing. He dreams of publishing his own book some day.
