Scientific Advisor to the Greka Lab, Kidney Disease Initiative
Jillian completed her PhD in Neuroscience at USC and Postdoctoral training at Stanford, where in addition to studying axonal transport mechanisms in Drosophila models of Alzheimer’s disease, she contributed to the founding of the Neuroscience education website, Knowing Neurons. During her time as an editor with Cell Press (Neuron), Jillian had the opportunity to critically assess a diversity of manuscripts across neuroscience, cell biology, and genetics. She is happy to assist and advise with all communications to scientific journals as well as with the preparation of scientific manuscripts. Jillian served as a scientific advisor to the non-profit, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund where she spent time reviewing grants and communicating research to scientists and non-expert investors. Her experience in this role cemented her interest in effectively communicating research findings to scientists, clinicians, policy makers, and the interested public. When she is not actively participating in Greka lab research endeavors at the Broad, Jillian is an avid rock climber, backcountry skier, and mountain biker.
