Postdoc at the Getz lab, studying cancer genomics and drug resistance. Enthusiastic about public speaking to communicate scientific ideas to different audiences.
Benny received his PhD in biology from the Technion, where he studied the role of lysosomes in cancer resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Currently he is a postdoctoral associate in the Getz Lab at Broad. His work involves combining computational and experimental methods to understand cancer genomics and evolution and the onset of drug resistance. He joined the Comm Lab because he aspires to improve scientific communication practices and by doing so facilitate a clearer, more interesting and more accessible distribution of scientific knowledge. He practiced public speaking for six years as a debater and participated in national and international debating and science communication competitions.
