Jacob directs the Broad Research Communication Lab and manages Broad’s research awards programs, including BroadIgnite, the Merkin Institute Fellowships, and the Next Generation Award. This work entails a variety of scientific communications for diverse audiences, ranging from experts to the general public. Before joining the Broad, Jacob completed a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research focused on the genetics and epigenetics of plant responses to bacterial infection and other environmental stressors.
