Kevin Bishop, Postdoctoral Associate in the Blainey Lab

Postdoctoral Associate in the Blainey Lab

Kevin is a postdoctoral associate in the Blainey Lab, where he is developing new microscopy-based methods to study the genetic drivers of disease at scale. He completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Oregon State University and his PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Washington. During graduate school, Kevin taught a seminar course on communicating research to public audiences through the Engage program at UW, where he had the opportunity to help fellow graduate students develop and refine public-facing talks about their research. Kevin likes finding the overlap between communicating to scientific and lay audiences, where many of the same skills that make an interesting TED Talk also make an impactful presentation at a scientific conference. As a Pacific Northwest native, Kevin enjoys hiking, coffee, and fulfilling most other PNW clichés.
