Science Advisor in the Blainey lab, a former Genome Research editor with scientific training in biochemistry and extensive experience in many forms of scientific communication.
Robert is a Science Advisor in the Blainey lab. In his role, he assists in the design and execution of major research programs and helps translate the lab’s science into manuscripts, funding applications, reports, and online media. Prior to joining the Blainey lab, Robert was Lead Educator in the Data Sciences Platform, and before that was a Science Advisor with the Regev lab/Klarman Cell Observatory and the Office of the Director. Before joining the Broad Institute in 2013, Robert trained as a biochemist and then worked as an editor for the journal Genome Research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. He particularly enjoys helping with presentations, manuscripts, funding applications, letters of recommendation/support, and any type of communication intended for non-specialist audiences. Robert’s areas of scientific expertise are gene expression and its regulation, genetics, and genomics, but he is comfortable thinking broadly across a range of scientific areas.
