Simona’s role at the Broad encompasses multiple areas, including 1) science writing for external prize nominations, 2) developing training programs and resources for research integrity & responsible conduct of research, and 3) providing professional development workshops through the Broad Research Communication Lab. Simona has a PhD in Genetics from Stanford University, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She has conducted research in molecular, cell, and developmental biology, with a focus on mechanisms of DNA meiotic recombination and germline cell division. She has been involved in a variety of teaching, mentoring, and outreach activities for various audiences, from the general public to NIH trainees. Before joining the Broad, she provided career and professional development services to graduate students and postdocs at MIT.
