Associate Director for Science Communications
Office of Communications
Tom is the associate director for science communications in the Broad’s Office of Communications, and runs the office’s science communications internship program. He has been working as a science writer and communicator since 2000, after completing a master’s degree in microbiology and immunology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and realizing that he was much better at talking and writing about science than actually doing it. Over the years, he’s worked in philanthropy, marketing, public relations, and academic communications, including stints at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Tom is happy to help Broadies with questions about talks & presentations, social media, summarizing their science for non-specialists, and any form of public/non-specialist communications.
