Vasuki is a computational biologist leading the effort to comprehensively characterize the landscape of somatic mutation, copy number and structural variants in cancer using the TCGA data. Prior to joining the Broad Institute, she was an AI research scientist at Intel labs where she worked on developing ML-based solutions for complex resource allocation problems in the context of wireless communication. She is passionate about communicating ideas in a clear and concise way, especially to non-expert audiences and enjoys helping people make effective presentations.

Vasuki graduated with a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2012 and M.S. and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley in 2018. At UC Berkeley, she also worked on revamping, redesigning and teaching undergraduate curriculum.
