4th year PhD student
Cordero Lab

Teja is a Ph.D student working in the Cordero Lab of MIT CEE. He is broadly interested in the microbiome and he is also passionate about developing high-throughput tools for life sciences. He is currently developing platforms to study the colonization of marine microbial communities, their community dynamics, and their spatial interactions on polymer surfaces. Before joining Cordero lab, Teja spent a couple of years at the Community Biotechnology Initiative of MIT Media Lab developing low-cost biotechnological tools. Previously, Teja received Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Fellowship, Catalyst Fellowship, and Charpak Fellowship.

Teja has co-authored research articles, presented posters, and delivered talks at conferences. His areas of expertise include providing feedback for academic/career documents (resumes/CVs), thesis proposals, and applications (personal/research statements and fellowships).

Teja received his M.Sc in life sciences at the Université Paris Cité in 2018. He received a B.E (Hons) in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani in 2015.
