The CommKit is a collection of guides to successful scientific communication, written by the Communication Fellows of MIT’s Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering.
Our goal in creating this resource is to share how we, as graduate students, think about conveying technical information in written, oral, and visual formats to a range of audiences.
Each guide is a short, self-contained discussion about how you can craft a successful document or presentation. To help translate theory into practice, we include annotated real-world examples like published papers and application materials from successful fellowship applications.
We designed the CommKit as a complement to our peer-to-peer coaching within MIT’s School of Engineering. While we cannot offer individual coaching sessions to those outside of MIT, we hope that the CommKit will be a useful resource for the larger engineering and scientific community.
